Rhein is a village in the Rural Municipality of Wallace No. 243, found where Highways 309, 637 and 726 meet. It became an incorporated village on March 10, 1913.
The village has an unusual chapter in its farming past. In 1928, Canada had 1,640 acres of cannabis under cultivation, and 200 of those acres were in Rhein.
Rhein is also the home town of Arnie Weinmeister, one of only two Canadians elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
